MLK Day - January 21st

On the third Monday in January, the country honors Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the impact he made on the civil rights movement. Every year, countless people march on his behalf in remembrance of his life, work, and the strides towards equality he helped make possible. This year, Comal County Habitat for Humanity will march with the New Braunfels MLK Association on January 21st at 10 AM beginning at Prince Solms Park and ending at the Civic Center. The event will begin with the march and end with a ceremony that includes a gospel choir tribute and a reenactment of one of Dr. King's speeches. Let us know if you're interested in marching with us by calling (830) 625-4025 or emailing volunteer@comalhabitat.org.

9/11 National Day of Service & Remembrance

September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance is a day we honor the lives lost in the September 11th attacks. We honor not only the lives of the victims, but also the brave first responders and service people who rose up in response of the attacks. In remembrance, volunteers across the country donate time and funds to help veterans and their overall communities. Sign up individually to volunteer or sign a group up (5 or more people) and join us on the construction site or in the ReStore! #GivingTuesday

#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and widely recognized shopping events such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. One of the best ways to give back is by getting involved with your community! Give your time on #GivingTuesday by signing up to volunteer as an individual or with a group and join us on the construction site or in the ReStore. Contact Volunteer and HR Coordinator Deepa for more information at volunteer@comalhabitat.org.
