Is there anything Comal County Habitat for Humanity's Home Repair Program does not work on?

Yes. We are restricted from working on the following items:

  • Burglar Bars
  • Patios or decks (except repairs of existing structures)
  • Carpeting for kitchen, bathrooms or patios
  • Garage door openers
  • Wet bars
  • Barbecue pits
  • Bath houses
  • Window treatments (draperies, shades, curtains, etc.)
  • Driveways and parking lots (except when repairing existing structures)
  • Dumbwaiters
  • Fireplaces (except when repairing existing structures)
  • Flower boxes
  • Greenhouses
  • Jacuzzis or hot tubs
  • Outdoor fireplaces or hearths
  • Photo murals
  • Swimming pools or decks around pools
  • Television antennas
  • Tennis courts
  • Permanently affixed kitchen appliances

Comal County Habitat reserves the right to disallow other projects deemed nonessential to furthering the purpose of the project.

 I'm not sure if I owe back taxes. How do I find out?

Check your status and/or sign up for a payment plan at the Comal County Tax Assessor's website: https://taxes.mycomalcounty.net

Do you repair mobile homes?

Yes, but with restrictions. We will complete exterior work, landscaping, fencing, painting and other minor repairs. The homeowner must own the land the mobile home resides on and the mobile home must be the homeowner's primary residence.

Can I apply for assistance more than once?

Yes, but not more than once per calendar year.

Can I apply for repairs on my home that was built by Comal County Habitat for Humanity?
